In France, Nokia has a strong technological base that relies on both cutting-edge Research and Development teams and very strong links with the French digital ecosystem. Nokia Networks France is Nokia’s legal entity in France (excluding submarine cable (ASN) activities), it also hosts the French teams of Nokia Bell Labs and Nokia Standards.
Nokia Bell Labs is the world-renowned industrial research arm of Nokia. Over its more than 90-year history, Bell Labs has invented many of the foundational technologies that underpin information and communications networks and all digital devices and systems. This research has resulted in 9 Nobel Prizes, eight Emmys, five Turing Awards, two Grammys and an Oscar for technical innovations. Nokia Bell Labs leads innovative research focused on the current Nokia Business Group Portfolio for both short and long-term excellence. Moreover, Nokia Bell Labs explores the fundamental and innovative research focused on new Nokia value chains as well as on opportunities beyond the current Nokia BG Product and Solution Portfolio including new market space, technology licensing and possible “spin out” opportunities.
